Hybrids combine both a conventional engine and electric motor to deliver significantly better fuel efficiency with reduced emissions. With our “plug-in” technology, the high-capacity battery can be recharged while driving or when plugged into an electrical outlet.
With Elgin’s plug-in hybrid system you sacrifice none of the performance you expect from an Elgin street sweeper while helping to fight climate change and improve air quality. At the heart of the system is a lithium-ion battery that delivers long-duty cycle operation. Lithium batteries deliver a longer lifespan, fast recharging, and lower total cost of ownership over conventional batteries.

The hybrid Broom Bear uses a high-capacity battery to power the sweeper. The battery can be recharged while driving or when plugged into an electrical outlet.
Designed to tackle everything from heavy-duty construction debris, such as millings or gravel, to light street maintenance, the hybrid sweeper’s performance, speeds, capacity, and its availability to work all day remains unchanged from the standard Broom Bear sweeper.
